Zaditor

Generic name: Ketotifen fumarate

As an eye allergy sufferer, you know how uncomfortable the itching can be. Zaditor is a fast-acting and long-lasting eye drop for itchy allergy eyes. Each drop of Zaditor relieves the itch within minutes and lasts 12 hours.This medicine is an antihistamine and mast cell stabilizer used to prevent itching of the eyes due to allergies.

Zaditor Dosage

  • The recommended dose is one drop in the affected eye(s) twice daily, every 8 to 12 hours.

Uses of Zaditor

  • Zaditor is used for the temporary prevention of itching of the eye caused by allergies.

Side Effects of Zaditor

Side effects may include:

  • Headache
  • runny nose
  • increased blood flow in the eyelid
  • Redness
  • Headache
  • Runny nose
  • Temporary burning or stinging of the eye

Warnings and precautions before taking Zaditor:

  • Do not wear contact lenses if your eyes are red or irritated, and do not use Zaditor to treat irritation from contact lenses. If you wear soft contact lenses, wait at least 10 minutes after applying Zaditor before inserting them.
  • For topical use only. Not for injection or oral use.
  • The safety and effectiveness of Zaditor in children below the age of 3 years have not been established.

Drug Interaction :- Tell your doctor of all nonprescription and prescription medication you may use, especially of: other eye medications.

Overdose

Overdosage is highly unlikely since swallowing even a whole bottle of Zaditor would give you only a fraction of the amount considered toxic. Nevertheless, if you suspect an overdose check with your doctor immediately.
